Send in your abstract for a poster presentation. Some will be carefully selected and invited to also come speak at this exciting conference!

Deadline for submission - The 4th of May, 2024, 23:59 (CET)

Abstract requirements

We invite you to submit your abstract for the 28th edition of MOSA Conference!
MOSA Conference aims to bring together students interested in the latest developments in (bio)medical research.

If you have any questions regarding the abstract, do not hesitate to contact the Scientific Committee at the following address:

  • Abstracts must cover a topic related to (bio)medical sciences without necessarily fitting to the theme of “Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in Biomedicine”.

  • Abstracts must be written in English.

  • Abstracts must contain 400 words maximum.

  • Abstracts must follow the template outline.

  • Abstracts should not contain tables or graphs.

  • Abstracts should address the problem and the purpose of the study.

  • Titles and abstracts should be free from abbreviations, except those commonly used in the scientific literature.

  • Abstract should not be submitted if:

    • The abstract has been accepted at an international conference before

    • It has been submitted to an international conference pending acceptance

  • The material should not have been previously published or presented at any international meeting

  • Only one submission (= one abstract) will be allowed per person

  • Please note that no confidential data and information should be present in the abstract and/or your conference presentation, make sure to double-check this before you submit!

Abstract submission

The abstract should be submitted by sending the file in a Word document format to the email with the subject “MOSA2024_Abstract_Surname_FirstName”. Indicate within the email whether you would want to present your research as a poster presentation, oral presentation or you have no preference.

  • If you indicate no preference, we will submit your application as oral presentation candidate for the jury.

  • For UHasselt students: kindly specify in case you prefer not to participate in the presentation.

By submitting the abstract you automatically confirm that your research is original work and written solely by the authors without plagiarizing other researchers' work.

Review and notification of acceptance

All abstracts will go through a blind review process by the jury members that the MOSA Scientific Committee selected. The jury will evaluate the abstracts based on the quality of the work and the relevance to the conference. Additionally, the abstracts submitted for oral presentation will be evaluated and if the work is not selected by the jury for oral presentation, the submitter will be offered a poster presentation instead. Notification of acceptance will be sent to the abstract submitter by June 7th, 2024.

Withdrawal conditions & change of presenter

If you need to withdraw the abstract or change the presenting author, please contact by the 14th of June, 2024.
